Bagha Jatin

The real name of Bagha Jatin was Jatindra Nath Mukherjee, he acquired the name “Bagha” after killing a Royal Bengal Tiger single handily with the help of a knife. While working in Bengal he founded Anushilan Samiti to carry out the anti-British activity. He carried out the Howrah-Sibpur Conspiracy and acted as a mentor for many revolutionaries.

He carried out the independence movement when many prominent leaders were caught under Alipore Bombing Case.

On 9th September 1915, he was surrounded by British forces and gunfight lasted for many hours. During the gunfight, he was wounded heavily and died next day. He was the great admirer of Swami Vivekananda and inspired by Swami Vivekananda he expressed
