Sudha Murty

Sudha Murthy is an Indian author, social worker, and philanthropist known for her extensive contributions to education and rural development in India. She was born on August 19, 1950, in Shiggaon, Karnataka, India.
She is an accomplished engineer and became the first female engineer at TATA Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO). Sudha Murthy is also the chairperson of the Infosys Foundation, where she spearheads various social initiatives focusing on healthcare, education, and rural development.
As an author, she has written numerous books in English and Kannada, including novels, children’s books, and technical books. Her works often reflect social issues and emphasize cultural values.
Sudha Murthy has received several awards for her social work and literature, including the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian honors.
