you are only a ’guest’ mean ’visitor’- on the Earth

It is said about guests that they are ’guests’. In the present time, the interpretation of the word ’guest’ has changed. Before the 1980s, there were neither telephones nor mobile phones in the country. The only means was a letter. People used to write letters to their acquaintances and relatives informing them about their arrival at their home, that is, their residence or city. Many times, the letter arrived late or did not arrive at all or was not even written. As soon as the concerned person reached the home of their acquaintances or relatives, they would be stunned or surprised and would say, you came without informing us, as a ’guest’. In the eyes of most relatives or acquaintances or sensible people who understood Indian culture, such a person was no less than ’God’. They would be welcomed. These guests were given the status of God also because their arrival brought happiness to the concerned household. There would be some time of laughter, conversation and enjoyment and. After some time they would depart.

We have placed this saying in the context of Earth and human beings because in the house called Earth, which is a planet, a human being is nothing more than a ’guest’. When he enters Earth as an infant through a family and home, one day he has to return from this house called Earth to the court of God. That is, every human being born on Earth is a ’guest’. According to Indian mythology, this guest has traditionally been regarded as a representative of God, and therefore it has always been his duty to take better care of the human beings, living creatures and animals living on Earth. He should fulfill his duty and responsibility and, after giving others the knowledge and skills in art and learning that he possesses, return from his home, that is, Earth, to Brahmaloka.

Since no human being wants to leave his home, that is, Earth, because of various kinds of ’’greed and temptation’’, according to the scriptures, Yamaraj comes to take him and takes his ’’soul’’ back with him. What remains is merely the corpse, that is, the dead body, that is, the physical body. After a human being leaves Earth, relatives or acquaintances discuss the deeds, achievements or bad deeds performed by that deceased person during their lifetime.

Because of his good and bad or negative deeds, the person who has departed from Earth continues to be remembered forever. Just as Ravana and Kansa have always been remembered because of their evil deeds, in the same way the names of Lord Shri Ram, Rani Lakshmibai, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, Swami Vivekananda and countless other personalities will always be remembered.

It is worth noting that those whom we regard as Gods were also human beings at one time. It was because of their good deeds that people began to worship them. In addition, personalities who fulfilled responsibilities toward society and the country in various forms, such as Mother Teresa, Tata, Birla and Dhirubhai Ambani, will always be remembered.

Come! Let us all understand the importance of the word ’guest’ during our lifetime and, while living in the ’’house called Earth’’, devote our responsibilities and duties to serving the country, serving humanity, and serving living creatures and animals. Whatever wealth and property we earn should be accompanied by a sense of honesty.

Because those who, without fulfilling their responsibilities toward society and the country, acquire wealth through wrong means and praise in the form of sycophancy have to make their future generations suffer the consequences. In a few words, death in accidents and illness is an eternal example of this. At present, there are many such wicked people alive who are suffering the bad consequences of their actions in various forms in this very world. Those whose departure from this world is peaceful and happy have behind them their glorious and virtuous deeds, the benefits of which continue to reach their present and future generations.
