Luck, Misfortune, Success, and Results

In life, every person is given an opportunity by God at least once to bring about a rise in their fortune. Whoever seizes this opportunity—grabs it firmly and does not let go—becomes successful. The difficult part, however, is knowing when this time will come, which exact moment it is, and how to recognize and seize it. Only the heart and mind provide a brief realization of it, and many times a person does not act on that thought because they wonder, “What if I am doing the wrong thing?” After that, the moment passes.
Those who benefit from this rise in fortune then transform that good fortune into hard work, honesty, and dedication to duty, achieving remarkable progress and fame. They enjoy happiness during their lifetime and also leave behind many opportunities for the next generation.
Those who fail to recognize this fortunate moment and let the opportunity slip away are left only with regret. Afterward, life gives them another opportunity in the form of hard work, commitment to that work, and honesty within that commitment, through which they can still make progress.
Many people try to achieve immediate fortune through gambling, dishonest earnings, accumulating comforts through unethical means, making money through crime, deceiving others for financial gain, dowry, or other immoral acts. They begin to believe that fortune can also be achieved this way. They become proud of it, advise others to learn from them, and often influence many people onto the wrong path.
However, those who achieve such temporary fortune are eventually distanced from happiness and prosperity by God—whether after a few minutes, a few days, or a few years. They may become poor, helpless, ill, victims of accidents, diseases, or government action. In the end, such people spend their lives blaming others, displaying misery, and one day fall victim to an unknown, unfortunate, or untimely death.
There are also some people who, despite gaining wealth and fame through wrongdoing or crime, realize that the wealth and comforts they acquired through improper means are wrong and that they will eventually have to face the consequences. To lessen that burden, they contribute to society by helping people, serving others, assisting the poor, supporting girls from impoverished families, helping with their upbringing and marriages, and funding various social causes. Moreover, after obtaining wealth and comfort through wrongful means once, if they do not repeat those actions, God continues to help them to some extent. When difficult times arrive, the prayers and blessings of the people they helped in the past often come to their aid.

A good seed, when planted in the ground and cared for properly, grows over time and continues to provide fragrance, greenery, or fruit. A person with negative thinking may instead watch the same plant wither away, giving nothing before eventually dying.
